Nigerian engineer and professional leader, Engr. Austine Anyigadi Agbara, MBA, R.Eng., FNSE, has received the 2026 Chairman’s Diaspora Engineering Impact & Collaboration Award from the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Calgary Branch, Canada.
The award was presented during a ceremony held yesterday in Calgary, Canada, in recognition of his contributions to engineering practice, professional leadership, collaboration and the development of the engineering profession across borders.
Engr. Agbara, a registered electrical engineer with over two decades of experience, has worked across areas including engineering design, automation, power systems, project management, equipment installation, technical consulting and business development.
His professional career has seen him engage with major organisations including NNPC, PZ Industries Plc, ABB Nigeria, Shoreline Energy and GAEP/Nordson in Dubai.
A graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Yola, Engr. Agbara also holds an MBA from the University of Central Nicaragua, where he is currently pursuing a PhD.
His expertise spans low, medium and high-voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, substations, modular power generation, industrial automation, instrumentation, pipeline systems and project management.
Beyond engineering, Engr. Agbara has established himself as an entrepreneur, consultant, mentor and community development advocate. He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Scores Global Limited, with professional engagements extending across Nigeria, Hong Kong, Dubai and other international locations.
He has also played active roles within professional engineering organisations, including serving as Chairman of the Diaspora Sustainable Committee of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Maitama Branch.
In July 2025, the Nigerian Society of Engineers conferred on him the prestigious Distinguished Fellowship of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) in recognition of his contributions to the engineering profession and public service.
Engr. Agbara is also the founder of the Oha Ngwa Engineers Association and the Nigerian Asian-Based Engineers Association, initiatives aimed at strengthening professional networking and connecting Nigerian engineers across geographical boundaries.
